life-drawing with diamine inks at worcester arts workshop

January 12, 2012

at my worcester, uk life-drawing session on 11-01-12, I tested some diamine drawing ink mixes that I had pre-mixed in small jars. the mix of full strength emerald and english red produced an interesting result when diluted with local tap-water. the other mix of  ultramarine and warm grey was more predictable:

my blog in 2011 – statistical exploration

January 1, 2012

the WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2011 annual report for this blog. they did a good job in co-ordinating my current blue/brown graphic theme.

Here’s an excerpt:

A New York City subway train holds 1,200 people. This blog was viewed about 4,000 times in 2011. If it were a NYC subway train, it would take about 3 trips to carry that many people.

testing some different ink – acrylic from diamine, uk

December 30, 2011

I recently bought a number of diamine inks direct from diamine, liverpool, uk. these are uk-produced, waterproof drawing & calligraphy inks in 30 ml glass bottles. the drawing below was made with a gillott 404 nib and diamine sepia and a mix of diamine ultramarine and warm grey.

these diamine inks are competitively priced and the inks arrived next-day,  carefully and protectively packed. I shall certainly order more from the interesting range of colours produced.
